I spent a week in Homey Hostel and I had a very pleasant stay! My 3 bed dorm was nice, with AC, a comfortable bed and a socket near the bed which is not very common in Malaysia. The accommodation has 3 bathrooms, a common area with a sofa, chairs, cutlery, plates and mugs and filtered hot water so guests can prepare their coffee/tea and refill their bottles of water. The internet connection works fine all over the hostel and the hostel is very clean, not to mention that the location is both close to Chinatown (less then 5 minutes walking) and Old Town and there are restaurants and convenience stores nearby as well as a bus station! The owner, Suki, is so friendly and flexible! Always willing to help the guests with information about how to get to the further points of interest, booking train/bus tickets and not stricked with the check in/out hours

suki is doing an excelent job there , she is responsive helpful and tries to give her best knowledge about anything you ask. the property gets cleaned every day once and gets a deep clean every weekend . people complained about black hair in the shower seem to misunderstand that a shared bathroom is frequented all the time so any dark haired person taking a shower at 6 or 7 will most likely leave a black hair . location wise you are pretty much in the center of the city with everything of human need in walking distance.

I stayed here both times when I was in Ipoh. Room and common area were clean and tidy. Hostel is located near a night market, Malay food court (must try their satay and nasi goreng ayam), 2 amazing kopitiams for breakfast and brunch and a few famous (with tourist) chinese restaurants (nasi ayam tauge, hor fun, salted chicken).

Not my first time staying here yet not going to be the last one too. My regular transit spot every time I'm in Ipoh. From a guest becoming more like a friend nowadays visiting this place. Friendly and lovely young lady owner. Highly recommended for short and long term stays.

Brilliant location in the New town, surrounded by Chinese food outlets. Walking distance to the the old town, little India and local bus station. Owner very nice and friendly. Free water dispenser. I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend.
